Background
Hemtex is rolling out a new store concept in Sweden and expanding its retail spaces to accommodate more and larger furniture in the display. It was now time for the store at Emporia to be updated.
Assignment
Our assignment was to merge two retail units into one larger, cohesive store. We acted as the construction project partner and were responsible for all aspects of the project, including representing Hemtex’s requirements in discussions with the property owner and subcontractors. In total, five people from Partega were involved in the project — carpenters, interior fit-out installers, and technicians.
Challenge
The main challenge lay in the scale of the project, as combining two retail units involved working with two entrance frames and larger glass sections.
Solution
An unusual advantage in the project was that Emporia provided a logistics team to assist with forklift unloading, internal transports, and waste management. This saved significant time and allowed us to focus fully on our tasks, while the logistics flow was handled by personnel with strong local knowledge.
Clear communication between all parties and subcontractors contributed to a smooth process.
Result
The property owner, Steen & Strøm, is satisfied with our performance. We complied with the noise restrictions and delivered according to schedule.
Both Hemtex and Partega are very pleased with the final result — a large, welcoming, and updated store.
