Background
Synoptik continues its expansion and concept renewal in Sweden. Following the opening in Skärholmen, it was now time to upgrade the store in Nacka Forum, where an existing space would be doubled and adapted to the chain’s new international concept from EssilorLuxottica. The establishment is a strategic investment based on sales analyses and market potential, and represents an important step in Synoptik’s ongoing modernization of its store portfolio.
Assignment
The assignment was to build a high-finish store that meets the standards of Nacka Forum, a premium shopping center owned by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield. At the same time, the areas needed to be adapted to Synoptik’s new international concept, which placed high demands on execution. We installed the client’s exclusive material choices, such as oak parquet and natural stone flooring, and carried out an upgraded design in the examination rooms to achieve the desired level of both quality and expression.
Challenge
During production, it was discovered that the store’s floor rested directly on top of a shelter, which made the wastewater installation more complex and required replanning. We were prepared to handle the older construction’s cement-bound lightweight aggregate, but when approximately 850 liters were exposed, around 50 liters of loose expanded clay pellets unexpectedly escaped into the parking garage and had to be dealt with. All of this took place during the industrial holiday period.
Solution
For us, the opening date always sets the pace, and through a flexible and solution-oriented approach we kept the project on track. We worked closely with the structural engineer and subcontractors to quickly adjust the plan and maintain momentum.
With a team that brings good spirits and a practical mindset, you can go a long way — even when it involves rolling up your sleeves and collecting 50 liters of loose expanded clay pellets in a parking garage.
Result
The outcome is a modern and technically advanced store with a high-quality finish, complete with new lighting, video solutions, and more than 4,000 meters of installed data cabling. Synoptik is very pleased with the result and has already awarded us additional store projects and ongoing service assignments, which we look forward to continuing.
