Background
We have a good long-standing collaboration with H&M, and it was now time to modernize the store at Köpmangatan 12 in central Örebro. The assignment included an update of the approximately 2,500 square meter store space. In connection with the renovation, H&M Home was relocated from Krämaren and integrated into the existing store – with a new, more visible location at the store’s second entrance facing Drottninggatan.
Assignment
The assignment involved what we call a “light rebuild,” focusing on refreshing surfaces, laying new tiled flooring, and generally upgrading both the sales area and staff facilities. Special attention was given to smarter planning of the office and staff areas to create a more functional work environment.
Challenge & Solution
The project was carried out in three stages to allow the store to remain partially open during construction. This is a common request in our projects, but it places high demands on logistics, coordination, and close communication with the store manager and staff. In addition, the project’s final phase coincided with a period of public holidays and shortened work weeks, which required extra careful planning to keep the schedule on track.
Through clear communication, good foresight, and a solution-oriented approach, we were still able to maintain the schedule and ensure a smooth execution.
Result
The result is a modernized store environment that enhances both the customer experience and the work environment. The spaces feel fresh and contemporary, the workplace conditions are improved, and the overall impression reflects H&M’s updated concept. We are proud to have contributed to developing a central retail environment in the heart of Örebro.
